Symptoms

• A sporadic pest.
• The caterpillar feeds on the flowers and lays eggs in the linear grooves on the tender spathe.
• The larva bores into the unopened spathe and feeds on the tender floral parts.

Control Measures

• Hand pick the larvae and remove affected spathe.
• In severe cases, spray Carbaryl 50WP 2g/L.
