Symptoms

• White wax coated larvae live in tubes formed by rolling up portions of palm leaves. Hiding in these folds, they feed on the lamina (Image2).
• Seedlings in nursery or just transplanted are most affected .

Control Measures

• Clip and burn the infested portions of leaflets with the caterpillars to control its spread.
