Symptoms

  • Minor fungal disease of sporadic nature.
  • Whitish fungal threads traverse along the stem and spreads to petioles, leaves and spikes (Image1).
  • Infected leaves and stems dry up.
  • Dried up leaves hang in the infected bush and gives a blighted appearance (Image2).

Control Measures

  • Collect and destroy all severely affected stem and hanging leaves , along with the mycelial threads.
  • Spray 1% Bordeaux mixture, twice at 3-4 weeks interval.
