Symptoms
- A black layer of fungal growth covers the leaves and reduces their photosynthetic efficiency
- Fungus develops on the sweet exudation of scales and mealy bugs attacking the tender leaves
Control Measures
- Spray 1% starch water on the affected leaves.
- On drying, fungus will be removed along with the starch coating as flakes.
- Control scales and mealy bugs using insecticides mentioned earlier.
